In the summer of 2013, Kante returned to the Ligue 2 by joining Caen as a free agent. That year also saw him find the net for the first time, finishing the tournament with three goals. The following season-with Boulogne in the third division-Kante established himself in the starting eleven, missing only one league fixture that campaign. ![]() First Season of Consistent First-team Action On May 18, 2012, Kante came off the bench for his already relegated team in the Ligue 2 season finale against AS Monaco, a 1-2 home defeat. After two years playing for the youth side, he finally had the opportunity to make his first team debut. In 2010, Kante joined the reserve team of Boulogne.
